Faith-Inspired Education at ILM
At ILM Schools, ilm (knowledge) isn’t only about grades, it is about growing good hearts as well as sharp minds. Our ethos is faith-inspired and community-minded. We want our pupils to think deeply, act with integrity and serve others with kindness.
Tarbiyah is not an add-on; it is the tone of the school day. You can see it in the way we greet one another, how we resolve disagreements and how we speak about people who are different from us. We teach our pupils to make good choices when no one is watching, to take responsibility when they make mistakes and to seek the good in others.
You'll see Tarbiyah in action through:
- Pastoral time that builds reflection, gratitude and self-discipline.
- Restorative conversations that repair relationships rather than simply punish mistakes.
- Staff modelling calmness, fairness and respect in all interactions.
Faith in Daily Practice
Our school life is rooted in nurturing a living connection with Islam.
Pupils engage in:
- Hadith of the Day shared during Salah time.
- Daily prayers and Duas, encouraging mindfulness and gratitude.
- Termly workshops on key Islamic topics such as Salah, Ramadan and Hajj.
- Guest speakers and special assemblies to inspire and deepen faith.
- Ramadan activities and events that build community, generosity and spiritual growth.
Through these experiences, pupils develop not only academic excellence but also a confident Islamic identity, moral maturity and a strong sense of purpose in serving others.
